Meet Thiemo

Thiemo Scheerer found a perfect match in Elopak, where days packed with great versatility, iconic products, and the best colleagues allow him to make a real impact in more ways than one.

An internship with a chocolate manufacturer sparked Thiemo’s interest in mechanical engineering in the food sector. His fascination with complex machines, state-of-the-art controls, and robots led him to Elopak, where he started working in September 2017.

Since joining Elopak, Thiemo has worked on the company’s new machine platform — first as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the development phase where he designed the transport system. Today, as Development Engineer he has more project responsibility and is currently leading the internal commissioning of the new machine platform.

According to him, the new title, bigger tasks, and increase in responsibility was both a natural and necessary development based on his interests as well as the company’s goals — and a great example of Elopak’s approach to their employees’ individual journeys.

The thing Thiemo likes more than anything else about his job is the versatility and flexibility. First of all, no two days are the same as every day brings with it a new challenge that requires a new approach and a new solution.

Secondly, he appreciates how Elopak encourages — and trusts — employees to influence their own work by thinking outside the box and utilizing their personal strengths. This opens up new opportunities for them to continue developing further — opportunities that are only multiplied by the company’s international playing field.

Thiemo describes both the work environment at Elopak and his colleagues as being truly unique. As a result, tackling challenges and working out solutions with his team is an absolute pleasure — and the hard work pays off when they celebrate reaching a new milestone.
