Elopak’s Statement On The Situation In Ukraine
Elopak has observed with great concern and sadness the escalating conflict in Ukraine. We strongly oppose the actions of the Government of Russia and wholeheartedly condemn the unprovoked attack against Ukraine. We express our deepest condolences to those affected by the violence.
Our over-riding concern is for the safety and wellbeing of our 336 employees across the two countries, and in particular the staff in our office in Kyiv and at our site in Fastiv, Ukraine. We are monitoring the situation closely and have established a steering group that is working hard to provide additional support to our colleagues in Ukraine and to help keep them and their loved ones safe.
We have also set up a Contingency Team which is developing plans for the continued running of our operations in the region. As providers of packaging solutions for liquid food and beverages, we are part of a vital supply chain which consumers rely on to have access to food and we are doing everything we can to keep supplying our customers across the region so long as it does not compromise the safety of our people, and in compliance with all relevant sanctions
Our thoughts are with those Ukrainians affected by this conflict and we join in the hope for a peaceful resolution without further loss of human life. We will continue to communicate closely with our employees, customers and suppliers in the region as the situation evolves.
