It’s all about making the product stand out on the shelf: color, design and packaging format. In the store, a typical consumer will make a purchase decision in less than two seconds. That’s why packaging design is crucial.
At Elopak, we print customers’ preferred designs on paperboard – which is the starting point for any brand to capture the attention of consumers. A lot of work and dedication go in to making this happen. Meet Michel and Christian; they do that – exactly right!
Christian Labonté is our pre-press manager based in Montreal. He joined the company seven years ago after working with customer design on different packaging formats for years. With his trained eyes, he can plan, execute and ensure the highest quality in putting together color combinations. There is not a small design error that passes his scrutiny. He explains: ‘I have worked with different types of packaging formats, and I love this job. Our color expertise combined with a close customer relation ensure that designs are exactly like they want them.’
Michel Couillard is his partner in ensuring that the planned design works in practice. He spends his days as a pressman operating several different color stations on the press. In a single 12-hour shift, almost a million Pure-Pak® cartons are printed under his supervision. Ultimately, Michel ensures that what Christian and his team has planned, actually works in practice when printed on the paperboard.
Together, they work with all colors of the rainbow to ensure that each carton has the exact desired design. From this, product brands can differentiate themselves on the shelf and increase their likelihood of being the preferred consumer choice.
